Our Services

While our culture expects us to endure abuse, our responsibility to ourselves, our children and family, and our community is to get away from it. No matter what your immigration status is, domestic violence is never acceptable and you do have a choice.

If you are experiencing any kind of physical or verbal abuse in your home, Arche Place is here to help you understand if itโ€™s domestic violence and if it is, to help you navigate your way out of it and through it to a new beginning.

Confidential Helpline

Connect with someone who can help victims understand and navigate their situation.

We have staff who speak English, French and Ewe, and all are โ€œfluentโ€ in the cultural complexities of sub-Saharan Africa.

Referrals to Counseling

Gain access to professionals who can help with counseling, therapy and other critical services.

Awareness Programs

Increase awareness of domestic violence through the lens of the cultural nuances of the African diaspora.

Safe Shelter

Give victims a refuge from untenable domestic abuse situations.

Arche Place will be building shelter services for victims of domestic abuse. While we wonโ€™t be ready until a future date, please get in touch if you need a safe space away from home and we can refer you to partners.

Guidance

Provide assistance as victims navigate change, from domestic violence to a new life.

Treatment Programs

Teach those who use violence how to replace their violent behaviors with healthy ones.

While itโ€™s not ideal, many victims of domestic abuse return to their abusers. If these abusers learn to manage their behaviors, we can end the cycle of abuse.
