Our Culture Asks Us To Endure Abuse

Our Well-Being Demands We End It

Arche Place is here to ensure victims of abuse from the African diaspora understand that they should not have to suffer, and are entitled to a new beginning, a life free from violence.

We speak the language of the African Diaspora, including its sensibilities and sensitivities

As the founder of Arche Place is a member of the African Diaspora, we understand that speaking out against domestic violence is not a part of our culture. That we are told to keep quiet and to endure, to not fight for our right to a safe home life. Or worse, that abuse is a normal part of a relationship, rather than something we should stand against (alt: we should reject). At Arche Place, we not only speak the languages of the Diaspora (English, French, Eweโ€ฆ and more to come!), we also recognize and can speak to the cultural complexities around domestic violence.
